"Steven Chera, nearly seventy-five years later, puts a beautiful spin on it, while he serenades you with his delightful vocal backed by "The One and Only" Bob Kaye Trio."

Josh describes Steven Chera as "a modern-day crooner and performer with a vintage style of his own," and says that "Chera revels in the music of the Great American Songbook" and "early rock-and-roll," with "a mellow toned tenor vocal [whose] supple delivery can gently transform a familiar melody to unfamiliar places."
Josh indicates that Chera "started performing at the age of thirteen, the objects of his fascination [being] the music legends Elvis Presley, Nat King Cole, Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, and Jim Morrison."
According to Josh, Steve Chera "has performed at The Oak Room, the Metropolitan Room, Don’t Tell Mama, Swing 46, the Refinery Hotel in New York City, Spago in Las Vegas, Hyatt Hotels, The Acqualina Hotel and Resort in Miami, and many other elite venues throughout the U.S.A."

La Libertad: Where were you born?
Steven: Brooklyn, New York.
La Libertad: Where do you currently reside?
Steven: Downtown Manhattan.
La Libertad: What do you love most about performing?
Steven: Feeling the energy of the audience coming back at you. There's nothing like it.
La Libertad: What talents and hobbies do you have?
Steven: Anything that keeps me moving.
La Libertad: What inspires you?
Steven: A great song.
La Libertad: What is the hardest part of songwriting?
Steven: I'm more of a song stylist. I take songs from the American song book and transform them to fit my own style, which I feel is Jazzy swingin'.
La Libertad: Who are your major musical influences?
Steven: Elvis, Sinatra, Bobby Darin...
La Libertad: What was your favorite concert experience?
Steven: My first concert seeing The Doors as a kid in 'Sixty-Eight.
La Libertad: What are your overall career goals?
Steven: To have a show, or, even better, a residency at Bemelmans Bar in N.Y.C.'s Carlyle Hotel.
La Libertad: Tell us about the genesis of your new love song?
Steven: I think the words are so beautiful... And that's really what usually attracts me to a song. People don't listen to lyrics much anymore. "My One and Only Love" is all about the lyrics.
La Libertad: When and where are you performing next?
Steven: Well, I'm in [the] works of making a recording, so I'm constantly in the studio working on that, for the most part, but I have a show in May at the Riverdale Y's theater in N.Y.C., for about two hundred fifty seniors.
