For examples: the appearance and voices/sounds of people and animals who have died and been buried! Not to mention rumors of murderous, escaped convicts on the lam! Personally, I also find religious fanaticism, graves, Bibles, and crucifixes sinister, as well as woods and large, mostly uninhabited houses, especially at night!
Meet Amelia, played by Rachel Appelbaum. She hears voices, including the barking of her dead dog, Rupert, played by an as of yet unlisted creature. Although she appears to be a grown woman, she still plays and sleeps with a doll, whose voice she also hears. She also lives with her Aunt Helen.
Meet Aunt Helen, played by Maria Olsen. She uses Amelia as a servant, and abuses Amelia psychologically and physically, telling her that her mother's already in hell, and locking
Amelia in a closet, as well as leaving her bound and gagged all night in the woods, all the while praying and reading passages from the Holy Bible.
Then there's Eric, played by Jeremy Gladen. Eric is in love with Amelia, even though Amelia gives him "the cold shoulder." He warns Amelia that there's an escaped murderer in the neighborhood.
Finally, meet Amelia's father, played by Johnny Francis Wolf. Where has he been all these years? Perhaps he's the escaped murderer!
This film begs more questions than it answers:
Whose voices does Amelia hear? Are they ghosts, or is she just insane after years of abuse?
Will Amelia escape from Aunt Helen's clutches?
Is Amelia's doll possessed by a demon?
who is the escaped convict, and who will he kill next?
Will Amelia and Eric elope and live happily after?
There's one good way to find out: Watch it when MOnsterworks66 and Dyenamic Films finally release it!
