Interview with Christopher L. Jackson

The first time I saw Chris was late September 2012, on the night I started attending the University of Phoenix.  I sat beside him and we soon became friends.  A tall, slender black man, he looked like a smoker or an infantryman; as it turns out, he turned out to be both.  Although we don't agree about politics or religion, we have always respected each.

Vaughanster:  What work have you done in the entertainment industry?

Christopher:  I have not yet done any work in the entertainment industry.

Vaughanster:  When and where were you born?

Christopher:  September 24, 1985 in Washington D.C.

Vaughanster:  Who were your parents?

Christopher:  Father is Lynn Carlos Edwards, Mother is Angelia Marie Jackson

Vaughanster:  Do you have any siblings?  If so, what would you like the world to know
about them?

Christopher:  I have two biological siblings and 156 brothers in arms. I would like the world to know that all of them are very exceptional human beings.

Vaughanster:  What was your first job?

Christopher:  My first job was a cashier at Popeye’s chicken in Clinton Maryland

Vaughanster:  Do you have any children?  If so, what would you like to tell the world
about them?

Christopher:  I currently have no children yet.

Vaughanster:  What influenced you to join the U.S. Army, and the infantry?

Christopher:  My influence to join the U.S. Army was my want to make something more of myself and set myself up for the “success” the U.S. military can set a person up for. The decision to join the infantry came when I saw my country at war and thinking about what part I wanted to play in the war.  I couldn’t see myself doing anything other than actually taking the fight to the enemy. I didn’t want to join the military in a time of war and be a supply guy or a cook. I wanted to be the guy actually fighting the war itself. I guess at the time I was thinking that it was better to be the guy fighting the war rather than the guy supporting the fighters.

Vaughanster:  What influenced you to attend the University of Phoenix?

Christopher:  I needed a quick pay check and couldn’t get a job. So the military pays me to go to school. I couldn’t get in Los Angeles where the school I wanted to attend was so while I was in Lancaster I decided to go to school until I could relocate.

Vaughanster:  What influenced you to move to California?

Christopher:  The Musicians Institute in Hollywood California.

Vaughanster:  What are your thoughts on religion and politics?

Christopher:  My thoughts on religion are as such; I know people need something to believe in so obviously a perfect figure would be the best to believe in, something or someone all powerful and all commanding who can be a symbol of everything that everyone is supposed to be.  I don’t knock anyone’s religious beliefs because honestly since we cannot go back into time we do not know how human beings became and who was the first, etc.  I just know that in today’s world; where value is not placed on time or life itself but instead on material possessions it is absolutely necessary for human being to believe in a greater power than the one that they actually own which is the power of intuition. As far as politics are concerned my thoughts are as follows.  I don’t agree with any political figure or participate in any political party. I believe that if human beings in each country were to have a political party that party should make decisions based on the good of every human being and not just those in the party.  Politics today is based off of selfishness and the betterment of the few instead of the many.

Vaughanster:  What are your thoughts on gun control?

Christopher:  My honest opinion on gun control is very simple. Everyone needs a gun to protect themselves from the people who wish to harm them. Those who use guns to harm others who do no harm to them need to be put on the “no weapon’s allowed” list. The government, the police, the military, the protectors of this land should never be allowed to have fire arms when the civilians that they are supposed to protect cannot own any, especially on the land that they live on.  It is when we have allowed them to take our weapons when we will need our weapons the most.

Vaughanster:  What are your thoughts on women in the military?

Christopher:  Well women in the military are perfectly fine. Although women in a combat arms MOS is perfectly insane.  Women are to be protected and not put into harm’s way.  The gender that can bring life into the world, the gender that carries the baby in the womb symbolizes creation and should never be put into a place of destruction. Men should fight the wars, women should support those who fight while they try to repopulate.

Vaughanster:  Where did you go to Boot Camp?

Christopher:  lol…Fort Benning GA

Vaughanster:  Where did you serve, with which military units?

Christopher:  I served in the First Armored Division Aco 1/6 INF, stationed in Baumholder  Germany.

Vaughanster:  What other places have you traveled to?

Christopher:  Iraq, Afghan, Kuwait, Germany, Virgin Islands, France, Italy, Russia.

Vaughanster:  What foreign languages, if any, do you read, write or speak?

Christopher:  I speak some Swahili, Spanish, and Duetch.

Vaughanster:  Who are your favorite entertainers?

Christopher:  My all-time favorite entertainer is Tupac Shakur:  Musician, Actor, Poet, and so much more.  My all-time favorite living entertainer that is not myself would have to be the musician T.I.

Vaughanster:  What are some of your favorite books, songs, and movies?

Christopher:  My favorite book Is the Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.   My favorite song is Moments in love by The Art of Noise. My favorite movie is The Secret.

Vaughanster:  How did you celebrate Valentine's Day?

Christopher:  I don’t celebrate holidays. I just don’t believe in what they stand for. Everyday should be the day to show those we love how special they are, everyday should be a day to give and receive gifts and every day we should be so thankful for everything we have that we feast with those we love on food that will fill everyone’s belly’s. One day out of the year to celebrate a certain trait in the human experience really shows how un evolved we all really are.

Vaughanster:  How do you intend to celebrate St. Patrick's Day?

Christopher:  I don’t.
