Interview with Osirus Cruz

Osirus Cruz is a Los Angeles based model.

La Libertad:  When did you start modeling?
Osirus Cruz:  I fist started modeling when I was 17.

La Libertad:  What got you started as a model?

Osirus Cruz:  While in High School, a woman approached me in the street and invited me to come to her agency for a test photo shoot. They signed me as one of their models and that is how I started doing photo shoots.
La Libertad:  Who have you really enjoyed working with?

Osirus Cruz:  I feel fortunate to have worked with so many talented photographers. I enjoy learning, growing, and being inspired by each photographer I have collaborated with. I really don't have a "favorite" photographer because they all have help me strength my skills in front of the camera. However, what I enjoy most about shooting is being challanged not only physically but also mentally. Such as playing a role in which I have to convay a mood or feeling by playing a character just like you would in acting. I prefer working with photographers that will push me out of my comfort zone to take risks.
La Libertad:  What other languages do you speak?

Osirus Cruz:  My first language is Spanish and English is my second language. I also speak Portuguese.La Libertad:  Where have you traveled to?

Osirus Cruz:  I have traveled to Mexico, Central America and to many states within the United States. I would love to visit Egypt and Brazil.
La Libertad:  What other talents do you have?

Osirus Cruz:  I am a great cook. I have a green thumb so I am always working in the garden when I have the time. La Libertad:  Any upcoming projects?

Osirus Cruz:  I am flying to Las Vegas for two more photo shoots. Then, I come back to LA to do a shoot for Mustang in August.
La Libertad:  What are your goals for your career?

Osirus Cruz:  I have a master's degree and I have a wonderful job. One of my main goals is to go  back to school and start working on a Ph. D. If time allows it, I would still shoot on the side so I can keep creating, communicating and connecting through the art of photography.
