Previous interviewee, Josh Mitchell refers to Five X, also known as "VX," as his "N.Y.C. [New York City] rap client... straight out of Jamaica, Queens," presented by
D.J. [disc jockey] Twisted Ark.
LA Libertad: Where were you born?
VX: I was born in Karachi, Pakistan.
LA Libertad: Where do you currently reside?
VX: I was only thirteen when we migrated to New York, U.S.A. - currently living in Jamaica, Queens.
LA Libertad: What is your occupation?
VX: Full-time musician.
LA Libertad: What do you love most about your work?
VX: Freedom to do anything with rhythms and melodies - can change moods with symphonies of words created in a musical flow. I feel free when I'm creating rhymes in my head; I always allow my brain to store enough bars to finish a song, so I don't have to write it down on a piece of paper.
LA Libertad: What are your talents and hobbies?
VX: I love making beats, when I'm not rapping/singing.
I just feel so into it! Once I start tapping the tabs on my Roland MC-808 drum sampler, there's no stopping me, and I'm really good at video games [laughs].
LA Libertad: What inspires you?
VX: I mostly get inspired by other beat makers. I love
exploring different genres of music.
LA Libertad: What is the hardest part of your job?
VX: Hardest part... Hmmm... I love my job, but, yeah, it could be really tough when you have been given a deadline... to record certain projects.
LA Libertad: What foreign languages, if any, can you read, write, speak, and understand?
VX: I can write Arabic, and I can speak Urdu as well.
LA Libertad: Where have you traveled?
VX: So far I've been to Italy and Dubai.
LA Libertad: What are your career goals?
VX: I want to spread my voice to the whole world.
LA Libertad: What projects are you currently working
on?
VX: Currently, I'm working on [the] VX Genesis, Chapter Two
Xenology L.P. [Long Playing record].
LA Libertad: What upcoming events do you intend to be
involved in?
VX: At the moment, I've been doing a few interviews on
radio shows overseas, and, honestly, I'm so busy working
on this L.P., so much going on with my newly released E.P. [Extended Play recording] VX Genesis, Chapter One, New Breed; we are scheduling so many video shoots for different songs on the E.P.!
