Interview With Marquis Stewart

Marquis Stewart
Marquis Stewart is "an inspiring actor, singer, model, and talk show host."

LA Libertad:  Where were you born?

Marquis:  I was born in Saint Louis, Missouri, May 4th, 1995, [and] graduated... May 22nd, 2014, in Saint Louis, from Hancock High School.

LA Libertad:  Where do you currently reside?

Marquis:  I currently reside in Los Angeles, to go after my dreams.

LA Libertad:  What is your occupation?

Marquis:  My occupation is [as] an "inspiring actor, singer, model, and talk show host.

LA Libertad:  What do you love most about your work?

Marquis:  What I love most about my work is that I get to be myself, and I am living out what I love to do each and every day.

There is no better feeling than waking up, getting to do what you have worked hard for - to get to - and will continue to...

LA Libertad:   What talents and hobbies do you have?

Marquis:  I can act, [and] sing; I like to play football, and volunteer [at] places to help out, and give back to the community.

LA Libertad:  What inspires you?

Marquis:  My faith in my religion, parents, and family inspires me.  Everyone supports me at what I do.  Raven Symone and Will Smith... played a part in inspiring me.  When I was in the Third Grade, I wanted to be a lawyer, [but] then, when I [saw] their shows, a light bulb switched on, and I said, "That's what I want to do!" And I will, and, after staying passionate and dedicated, it's all starting to come about.

LA Libertad:  What is the hardest part of your job(s)?

Marquis:  The hardest part of what I do is leaving everything behind emotionally and mentally, so it won't affect my mood when being in character or trying to get the job done, and just so everyone around [me] can work with someone that is happy and full of life, not a "Debbie Downer."

LA Libertad:  What foreign languages, if any, do you read, write, and/or speak?

Marquis:  I can speak some Spanish and Russian.  I can write a little in Spanish.

LA Libertad:  Where have you traveled?

Marquis:  I haven't [traveled] anywhere, but, once I get established with my profession, I am going to travel with my parents because I always have...  And they deserve it as well.

LA Libertad:  What are your career goals?

Marquis:  My career goals are just to be successful with my skills and talents.  Not only that - change the world!  Before I leave this earth, I... don't [just] want to be known for my acting, singing, modeling, hosting my own inspirational talk show, I want to know that I have [done] something else in regard to "[bringing] the change I want to see in the world."

LA Libertad:  What upcoming events, if any, do you intend to participate in?

Marquis:  I have an upcoming project with Doctor Dre and Ice Cube - [a] movie "Straight Out of Compton," and [I] will be working [on] a Tom Hanks movie, set in the 'Fifties (a thriller).  I will also be doing some puppet work for a kids' show.

LA Libertad:  What links would you like to share?

LA Libertad:  What else, if anything, would you like to tell our readers?

Marquis:  I am a strong, determined, ambitious, and confident person who always believes in myself and others around me.  I love being positive and inspiring others; it makes me feel good as an individual.  I always do my best at everything, even if it's not apart of my profession or career.  There was a point in my life [when] I had anxiety attacks, and [felt] like death was going to come upon me everyday; I had lost a lot of weight because I [didn't] eat or sleep that much, and I would have to make trips to the hospital thinking it was my last.  This happened every day when I was sixteen, and lasted until I was seventeen.  I overcame it with out any medication.  I was molested twice, and both of a different sex.  I have seen my friend get hit by a car; I have been ran over by a parade float, and I have seen people killed by various things.  I am Marquis Alexander Stewart; I have a story, and it will be heard, and known - not for my sake, but to help and let others know, no matter how bad you think your past is, you can help change and shape the future.  As we all grow, we become more in control of our story, and we can really become the author, and write it [about] how we can make ourselves happy.  At the end, if at all, we all are amazing people who all have our own story, and nobody is the same; that's what is so wonderful about life.
