Interview With Hassan Farrow

Hassan Farrow
LA Libertad:  What is your occupation?

Hassan:  I am a singer/songwriter/vocal arranger/performer and model.

LA Libertad:  In which city and State do you live?

Hassan:  I am twenty-six years of age, and located in Brooklyn, New York.

LA Libertad:  What do you love most about your work?

Hassan:  The feedback for the audience!  The energy they give me is incredible.

LA Libertad:  Do you have any other talents or hobbies?

Hassan:  I have a certain handwriting technique that I can copy in computer font.

LA Libertad:  What inspires you?

Hassan:  I like to inspire myself with things that I've done in the past.  Performances, pictures, videos, et cetera...

LA Libertad:  What is the hardest part of your job?

Hassan:  To reflect and challenge myself!  Ask myself what am I going to do differently from yesterday...

LA Libertad:  Do you speak any other languages?

Hassan:  A lit bit of Spanish...

LA Libertad:  Where have you traveled?

Hassan:  All over the U.S.

LA Libertad:  What are your goals for your career?

Hassan:  To challenge myself in every way!

LA Libertad:  Any upcoming projects?

Hassan:  I'll be shooting a major music video [in September, 2014].

LA Libertad:  What do you love most about your work?

Hassan:  My passion for music is shown through my sultry, sexy,

and sizzling array of hip-hop, R-and-B [Rhythm and Blues],

neo-soul, and bluesy ballads.  More than seeing me and hearing

me, the listener feels me, like they did back in the eras of

Marvin Gaye and Peabo Bryson.  I have been singing since I

could articulate, spending many of my school years performing in

festivals and cultural events.  Born in Spain, raised in the

U.S., both east and west coasts, my global seed has been planted.

Recording studios have been a part of my regimen since the

tender age of fourteen.  As a teenager, I've worked with

producers from Sony and Jive Records. I love singing desperate ballads, and admit I can relate to some of the situations I sing about.

Ed Fletcher (producer/songwriter/author) lyricist of Grandmaster

Flash's street saga super rap hit "The Message," say's of [me],

"This young man has it.  When he sings, you hear someone much

older than his years."  Today, not many male vocalists offer

[my] depth and sensitivity...  [My] vocal character is

distinct.
